Introduction to Navigation
The Introduction to Navigation is designed for individuals and couples who are looking to get out into the hills and on to the moors and for people looking to gain some independence and confidence with their map reading. This course will equip you with the basic skills required for simple route planning in the mountains.
We offer 1 and 2-day courses, which will be designed to cater for you and your needs. All maps and compasses included. Please speak to us when booking if you require any further equipment.

Navigation for Improvers
Whether you need a refresher before an assessment or looking to expand your skill set in the mountains, this course will help to consolidate existing knowledge as well as giving you new skills and strategies to support you in the hills.
We will work with you to tailor the course to suit your needs. We will provide maps and compasses for the area if you do not have your own. We will also provide a detailed action plan for you to support you after the course.

Guided Walks and Scrambles
Staying safe in the mountains and hills is top priority. With Mountain Rescue receiving 2074 callouts in 2016 we believe having the right skills for the right environment is of paramount importance. There’s no easier way to maximise your day on the hill than to utilise the skills
and knowledge of our guides. Our instructors can support and lead you in the mountains and across tricky terrains to maximise your safety and experience. So, if you are planning on heading somewhere new or taking on a mountainous challenge why not get in touch.
All our guides have a minimum qualification level of Mountain Leader and where required MCI.

Technical advice
Westcountry Adventures can provide Technical Advice, offering our expert knowledge and supporting your company where required. We can help up-skill your staff, helping to provide in-house assessments and signing off on competencies that sit outside of their remit. We can also support you with your Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments.
