“Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance.” Timothy Gallwey

Womens Winter Coaching Series

It’s no surprise to know that participation in sport declines in the colder, darker autumn and winter months.

Sport England research suggests it is down to a range of key reasons:

Environmental barriers: Too cold, wet and dark for outdoor activities.
Motivational barriers: Motivational barriers are most likely to affect those who exercise indoors or alone.

One of the key strategies suggested to reducing the risk of future opt out is booking activity in advance, preparing the night before, or making a financial or social commitment.

Throughout October, November and December, we will be starting our Women’s Winter Series, based at Plymouth Life Centre Climbing Wall between 7pm and 9.30pm.

Each booking is for a 3-week block. As well as forming a social group, this will support development, progression and encouraging you to commit to staying active. We will explore movement, how to use the wall to help keep fit, bouldering and roped climbing. Knowing how to belay is advantageous, but not essential.

Sessions are run by Tori (qualified climbing Development Coach and teacher) as well as supporting coaches if required.

We will create a supportive space for you to climb, providing technical and movement coaching to ensure you not only have fun, but also improve your skills and confidence.

Wall entry costs and equipment is included in the price.
