Training Plans

West Country Adventures has supported many climbers over the years with structured, progressive and tailored training plans. We take the ‘whole climber’ into consideration when tailoring plans to our clients. Paul leads all the Training Plans and Performance Coaching.

During the initial profiling phase we take into account your climbing and training goals to ensure we are taking the right steps to improve your climbing. Our plans are designed around your training facilities and life commitments whether you are after a periodised or non-linear plan.
Our plans cover all physical aspects of climbing;

  • Climbing specific training
  • Antagonistic training
  • Floor and hanging core exercises
  • General conditioning
  • Mobility and Flexibility
  • Mental training and visualisation

Our plans are written by experienced coach Paul, who holds a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, he is a Development Coach and is a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor. Paul is an avid trainer and psyched, passionate climber who climbs and coaches at an elite level in multiple disciplines.

A standard in-person assessment and 12-week training plan starts at £150. Once you have purchased the training plan, we will be in touch to arrange a date for your assessment.

If you’re not interested in a specific training plan, then we also offer Movement Profiling Assessments, which will identify gaps in your movement patterns and technique, giving you on the wall tasks to support your development.
