This two day Learn to Lead Trad climbing course covers the basic skills of lead climbing trad routes, focusing on placing protection and building sound anchors. Traditional climbing, is a climbing discipline where there is no pre-placed protection. Without bolts, it means the lead climber has to place their own protection in the rock, and the second climber takes this protection out again, leaving nothing but their footsteps on the rockface. There is so much traditional climbing in Devon, you will be able to access a greater amount of crags, compared to sport climbing.

The course can be completed over a weekend or bespoke courses can be run on split days

Placing and Assessing Trad Gear
Building Trad Anchors
Lead belaying
